Jim Murray is the Sports Director at
KTVZ-TV, the NBC affiliate in Bend,
Oregon.    

Since joining KTVZ on August 1, 2007.  
Murray has covered a wide variety of
Oregon sporting events including the
Jeld-Wen Tradition at Crosswater Golf
Club, the Cascade Cycling Classic, the
NCAA Regional Championship at the Rose
Garden, the Oregon Ducks and the
Oregon State Beavers. Murray has also
immersed himself in the Central Oregon
High School sports scene. He covered
Bend High's state championship run in
girls soccer and the Sisters Outlaws 2nd
place finish in the state finals in football.
In addition, Murray anchors KTVZ's friday
night high school sports shows "High
School Hits" and "The Big Playback."

Prior to joining KTVZ, Murray was the
Sports Director at KVMD-TV in Los
Angeles.  At KTVZ, Murray reported for the
nightly news magazine show "Southern
California Life." Murray covered many
Southland sporting events, including
NASCAR in Fontana, USC Football, UCLA
Basketball, the X-Games, the AVP, the
Harlem Globetrotters, MLS soccer and the
Los Angeles Lakers.

In addition, Murray was the play by play
voice of Granada Hills Footbal and for FIVB
beach volleyball for WCSN.  Murray was
the public address announcer for the
Santa Monica College Corsairs.

Murray has interviewed the biggest
names in sports, including Pete Carroll,
Ben Howland, Todd Rogers, Rick Majerus,
Aaron Afflalo, Fred Couples, Tiger Woods,
writer/director Ron Shelton, Landon
Donavan and Richard Petty.

Murray was an accomplished college baseball player. In 1996, he set the Division III record with 4 doubles in a
playoff game while playing third-base for Claremont College.

Jim received his Masters Degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology. Before moving to Bend,
Murray was a professor of Psychology at  Ryokan College in Culver City. He also provided sports consultation for
athletes in West Los Angeles.
